To close out owl week, here’s another snowy owl from Boundary Bay in British Columbia. This adult female was perched on a nearby post for quite a while giving us ample opportunities for portrait shots. What we were all hoping for, however, was a flight shot — and she eventually obliged, flying right past us and out into the marsh.

Dear Sean – this is a breath taking impossible photograph. Owls are nocturnal birds I wonder how you could get it so sharp and nice. Effort of several hours and may be hundreds of shots.
Many thanks.
Thanks Shashikant,
The snowy owl is one of the few diurnal owls. The tricky part is finding one, but once you do, they tend to hunt early and late in the day.
Breathtaking is the word!
Definitely the money shot,Sean, although I would love to see what you call a “portrait”shot of one of these beauties posing on a pole.
This is absolutely astounding!
You do what we all aspire to do. Splendid shot!
Incredible! Oh that eye!!!
I wish I have yellow eyes like that. cool!
Majestic! Seriously, unreal.
I have a new appreciation for owls after this week. They are really beautiful.
Thanks for a whole week full of my favorite animal! They were all so beautiful.
Phenomenal. White on white. Piercing yellow eyes. I will remember this week. always
Thanks everybody. Sounds like I’ll have to do another owl week sometime soon.
Awesome shot my friend!
Good Lord, incredible!
